US Open of Surfing
When: August 3 – 11
Where: Huntington Beach
Surf’s up! The Lexus US Open of Surfing is happening from August 3-11– a whole week of competitive surfing on the coast of Huntington Beach. As the world’s largest surfing competition, expect only the best music, free activities, and of course, world-class surfing from the biggest champions of the sport. While the event is free to attend, parking is limited, so make sure to plan ahead.
OC Fair
When: Until August 18
Where: OC Fair & Event Center
The OC Fair is back! And with the theme “Always A Good Time,” you know there will be plenty of fun to be had. Indulge in one-of-a-kind food, take a ride on the Ferris wheel, and check out the adorable farm animals. And with headline acts including Trevor Noah, Counting Crows, and Kool & The Gang, there is something fun for everyone! Tickets and parking can be purchased ahead of time here.
Pageant of the Masters
When: Until August 30
Where: Laguna Beach
If you live in Southern California, the Pagent of the Masters is a must-see event. On a warm summer evening as the sun sets, the Festival of the Arts comes alive with a show of living pictures: volunteers dressed to recreate classic works of art with a professional orchestra in the background. This year’s theme is “A La Mode: The Art of Fashion.” The Pageant of the Masters is an event unlike anything you have ever seen before. You can buy your tickets ahead of time on their website.
Summer Concerts

Where: Multiple cities in OC
Cities all across the county have been hosting summer concert series, and it is not too late to join in. With a variety of bands, music genres, and locations, there’s guaranteed to be one the whole family can enjoy–all with free admission! Check out the full list of all the concert series here.
Villa Park Cars & Coffee
When: August 17 from 7 – 10 AM
Where: Villa Park Town Center
On the third Saturday of each month, head to The Cofffee Grove for this free car enthusiates meetup. Grab a coffee and sip while you get up close with some unique cars. From classic hot-rods to the latest off the line, all types of cars are welcome to this free event.
